Medical Geology and IMGA
A 2024 tribute identifies the adoption of the term Medical Geology in 1997 and establishment of the International Medical Geology Association in 2006 among Selinus’s most important international contributions.
It also highlights his role in establishing the International Symposium on Environmental Geochemistry series.
Books and Global Influence
Selinus edited Essentials of Medical Geology and co-edited Medical Geology: A Regional Synthesis with Robert Finkelman and José Centeno.
These works examine geological materials, elements, water, soil and health on a global scale.
